Let’s Talk Primordial Demons of Tensura
I’m just gonna say it: Tensura’s Primordial Demons are absolutely ridiculous.
Born at the literal dawn of time before the underworld even had a proper organization chart, these seven color-coded harbingers of chaos are basically what happens when you take the concept of “demon” and crank it up to eleven. They came into existence as a counterbalance to the Seven Angels of Origin, emerging from the Great Holy Spirit of Darkness as Devil lords when Veldanava created the world.
What makes these seven especially fascinating isn’t just their raw planet-destroying power (though that’s pretty cool too), but how they’ve evolved from ancient chaotic entities into some of the most intriguing characters in the series.
So who’s the biggest, baddest demon of them all? Let’s settle this debate once and for all by ranking all seven Primordials from “merely catastrophic” to “oh god, oh no, we’re all doomed.”
How I’m Judging These Demons
Before we dive in, here’s my criteria for ranking these otherworldly terrors:
- Raw “I’ll destroy this continent” Power: How much magical energy they can throw around
- Combat Experience: How many millennia they’ve spent perfecting the art of violence
- Special Abilities: Those unique tricks that make opponents say “that’s just unfair”
- Growth & Evolution: How much stronger they’ve gotten since their introduction
- Named Status: Whether someone powerful gave them a name (it’s a whole thing in Tensura)
Now let’s get to the juicy stuff!
7. Blue (Bleu/Rain)

Don’t let her complaints fool you—she’s still terrifying
Coming in at the bottom of our ranking is the Blue Primordial, Rain (formerly Bleu). Don’t let her placement fool you—she’s still a catastrophic threat who could wipe out armies without breaking a sweat. She just happens to be slightly less overwhelming than her siblings.
Rain’s main character trait is that she absolutely hates working hard. As one of Guy Crimson’s loyal maids, she’s constantly complaining about various tasks and often pushes responsibilities onto Misery. Even in the middle of high-stakes battles, she’ll be there sighing about how troublesome everything is.
What we know about Rain:
- She has short blue hair and eyes and rocks a deep-red maid outfit
- Despite her complaints, she’s unfailingly loyal to Guy Crimson
- She resides in the Ice Continent with her master
- She was defeated by Guy in the past and resurrected under his control
“Why does everything have to be so much work? Can’t we just destroy them and get it over with?”
— Rain, probably during every mission ever
What keeps Rain at the bottom of this list isn’t a lack of power—it’s her apparent lack of ambition and drive compared to the other Primordials. When you’re at this level of power, sometimes the difference comes down to motivation, and Rain would rather take a nap than conquer a kingdom.
6. Purple (Violet/Ultima)

Dominatrix-turned-primordial
Next up is the Purple Primordial, Ultima (formerly Violet). Despite her youthful appearance with that cute side ponytail and yellow eyes, Ultima is basically what happens when you combine “princess syndrome” with “enjoys torturing people a little too much.”
After being convinced by Diablo to join Rimuru’s forces, Ultima became one of the terrifying trio serving under the slime. Her personality is a fascinating contradiction—she demands to be treated like royalty by her subordinates while also taking disturbing pleasure in inflicting pain on others.
Ultima’s demonic resume includes:
- Pain Enthusiast: She genuinely enjoys causing suffering, which is pretty on-brand for a Primordial
- Royal Attitude: Expects to be treated like a princess by lesser demons (and they comply out of fear)
- Named by Rimuru: Received a true name, significantly boosting her power levels
- Part of Rimuru’s Forces: Currently serves the Jura-Tempest Federation
While undeniably powerful, Ultima ranks lower than some of her siblings because her specialization is more niche than some of the other Primordials. Her sadistic tendencies make her incredibly dangerous to face directly, but she lacks some of the versatility and tactical brilliance demonstrated by those higher on the list.
5. Yellow (Jaune/Carrera)

A walking disaster zone
The Yellow Primordial, Carrera (formerly Jaune), is what happens when you give a trigger-happy demon access to magical nuclear weapons. Before joining Rimuru’s forces, her favorite hobby was randomly bombarding Leon’s capital in El Dorado with Nuclear magic because… why not?
With her short blonde hair and blue eyes, Carrera might look relatively harmless, but anyone who knew her before she came under Rimuru’s influence still considers her an absolute menace. And they’re not wrong.
Carrera’s explosive qualities include:
- Nuclear Magic Specialist: Can cast magic equivalent to nuclear weapons in destructive capability
- Zero Restraint: Before joining Rimuru, would just nuke places for fun
- Named by Rimuru: Received a true name, boosting her already terrifying power
- Slightly More Controlled Now: Has calmed down somewhat under Rimuru’s leadership (emphasis on “somewhat”)
Carrera ranks in the middle of our list because while her raw destructive output is possibly the highest among Rimuru’s Primordials, her approach lacks the finesse and strategic depth shown by those above her. She’s the magical equivalent of bringing a nuclear arsenal to a knife fight—effective, but not always the most elegant solution.
4. Green (Vert/Misery)
Selective deconstruction at its finest
With her long, curly green hair and matching eyes, Misery brings a level of professionalism to demonic service that’s both impressive and slightly unsettling.
What makes Misery stand out:
- Fanatical Dedication: Takes her responsibilities to Guy with religious seriousness
- Cult Leader: Founded a cult centered around supporting Guy’s observations
- Efficient Management: Picks up the slack when Rain inevitably complains about working
- Loyal to Guy: Serves the Red Primordial with unwavering devotion
Misery ranks above Rain, Ultima, and Carrera because her combination of power and methodical approach makes her a more complete threat. Unlike Rain, she doesn’t complain about her duties; unlike Ultima and Carrera, she channels her power with purpose and direction.
According to Misery herself, she and Testarossa form a “troublesome duo” when they work together, suggesting her capabilities are recognized even among the other Primordials.
3. White (Blanc/Testarossa)

The gentle appearance hides one of the most terrifying personalities in Tensura
Testarossa, the White Primordial (formerly Blanc), is the walking definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Behind her gentle appearance with silver hair, snow-white skin, and red eyes lurks one of the most terrifying personalities in the entire demon realm.
Her claim to fame before joining Rimuru? The “Lake Shore Dyed Scarlet Incident,” where she massacred an entire city to avenge her friend Blanche, whose body she now possesses. After joining Rimuru’s forces, she channeled that same intensity into political manipulations, coercing the Western states council to further Tempest’s goals.
Testarossa’s terrifying traits include:
- Vengeful Nature: Will annihilate entire cities if you harm those she cares about
- Political Mastermind: Excels at diplomatic manipulation and political maneuvering
- Combat Prowess: Despite her focus on politics, remains an exceptionally dangerous fighter
- Named by Rimuru: Power significantly enhanced through naming
What places Testarossa so high on this list is her versatility. While others might specialize in destruction or loyalty, Testarossa combines combat ability, political acumen, and strategic thinking in a package that makes her effective in virtually any situation. Her ability to handle diplomatic missions for Tempest while still being capable of unspeakable violence when necessary makes her one of the most valuable Primordials.
2. Black (Noir/Diablo)

When devotion meets purpose
If there were Olympic medals for obsessive devotion, Diablo would have enough gold to crash the global economy. Originally known as Noir, the Black Primordial has become a fan favorite through his combination of overwhelming power and his comically intense loyalty to Rimuru.
Diablo stands out among the Primordials for his different values, particularly regarding the pursuit of power. While other demons are typically self-serving, Diablo immediately pledged undying loyalty to Rimuru upon being summoned and has remained fanatically devoted ever since.
What makes Diablo so ridiculously powerful:
- Powered by Pure Simping Energy: His devotion to Rimuru has somehow translated into exponential power growth
- The Complete Package: Master of combat, magic, strategy, and looking fabulous in butler attire
- Unique among Demons: The only male-presenting Primordial (besides Guy, who’s gender-fluid)
- Named by Rimuru: Received one of the first true names, giving him a head start on power growth
- Fought Guy to a Draw: According to lore, battled Guy Crimson and managed a stalemate, earning the Red Primordial’s respect
What’s truly scary about Diablo isn’t just his current power level—it’s his growth rate. Since joining Rimuru, he’s evolved at a pace that suggests he might eventually challenge even the top spot on this list. His combination of fanatical loyalty and calculating intelligence makes him one of the most dangerous beings in the entire Tensura universe.
“Rimuru-sama’s smile is worth sacrificing a thousand worlds for. Would you like me to demonstrate?”
— Diablo, probably
1. Red (Rouge/Guy Crimson)

When even other Primordials say ‘yeah, we don’t mess with that guy’
At the absolute pinnacle of demonic power stands Guy Crimson, the Red Primordial who makes other Primordials look like they’re still in demon preschool. Guy isn’t just powerful—he’s “rewrote the rules of reality because the old ones were inconvenient” powerful.
As the first and most powerful Primordial Demon, Guy proudly declares himself the first Demon Lord and has the overwhelming power to back up his confidence. With his flowing crimson red hair and eyes, he’s as distinctive as he is terrifying.
Why Guy Crimson is the undisputed champion:
- The First Primordial: According to the author, Guy was the first Primordial born, giving him seniority and power
- Defeated Other Primordials: Conquered both Bleu (Rain) and Vert (Misery), who now serve him loyally
- Respected by Diablo: Even the Black Primordial acknowledges Guy’s power, having fought him to a draw
- True Demon Lord Status: Evolved to a level that puts him in the cosmic weight class
- Rules the Ice Continent: Maintains his own domain with absolute authority
- Gender-Fluid Power Move: Casually told Leon he was fine with being female instead, showing his mastery over his very form
Guy Crimson isn’t just at the top of this list—he’s in a tier of his own. His influence extends far beyond combat power; he’s a fundamental force in the world of Tensura who has shaped the course of history repeatedly over countless millennia.
The gap between Guy and the second place is significant enough that even Diablo, for all his growth and potential, still has a long way to go before truly challenging the Red Primordial.
Primordial | French Color | Current Name | Loyalty | Distinctive Trait |
---|---|---|---|---|
Rouge | Red | Guy Crimson | Self | First and strongest Primordial |

Jaune | Yellow | Carrera | Rimuru Tempest | Used to randomly nuke Leon’s capital for fun |
Violet | Purple | Ultima | Rimuru Tempest | Princess-like attitude with sadistic tendencies |
Bleu | Blue | Rain | Guy Crimson | Hates working and constantly complains |
Could The Rankings Change?
What makes Tensura’s power dynamics so interesting is that they’re constantly evolving. Several factors could shake up these rankings in the future:
The Rimuru Effect
Let’s be honest, being anywhere near Rimuru is basically winning the supernatural lottery. His subordinates keep getting ridiculous power-ups just by association.Diablo’s Obsessive Growth Rate
Diablo’s simping power level is so intense that he might actually close the gap with Guy Crimson eventually. His growth rate is practically vertical at this point.Primordial Personalities
The unique personalities of each Primordial influence how they use their power. Testarossa’s diplomatic skills, Carrera’s destructive tendencies, and Ultima’s sadistic approach all shape their effectiveness in different situations. The Birth Order Factor
According to the author, the Primordials were born in this order: Guy, Testarossa, Diablo, Misery, Carrera, Ultima, and Rain. This birth order seems to roughly correlate with their power levels, with exceptions based on their development.
The beauty of Tensura’s power system is that it allows for meaningful growth while maintaining internal consistency. Characters become stronger through logical (well, magical logic) progressions rather than random power-ups, making the evolution of these rankings feel earned rather than arbitrary.
Primordials vs. The Rest of Tensura
To put the Primordials’ power in perspective, let’s quickly compare them to other powerhouses in the Tensura universe:
- True Dragon Lords: Like bringing a nuclear arsenal to the Primordials’ knife fight
- Milim: The demon lord who makes other demon lords say “please don’t break the continent again”
- Rimuru: Started as slime, ended as “actually, I’m kind of a god now”
- Veldanava: The original deity who would view Primordials like we view action figures
- Seven Angels of Origin: The light counterparts to the Primordials, born from the Great Holy Spirit of Light
This comparison shows that while the Primordials are absurdly powerful, they exist within a universe filled with beings who could potentially check their power. The existence of these cosmic counterweights prevents any single Primordial from completely dominating the setting.
Beyond the Power Levels
While ranking these demons by power is fun, what makes the Primordials truly compelling isn’t just their ability to reshape landscapes with a thought—it’s their distinct personalities and roles in the story:
Guy Crimson isn’t just the strongest; he’s a fascinating character whose perspective spans the entirety of civilization. Diablo isn’t just number two; he’s an example of how devotion can transform even an ancient being of chaos. Each Primordial brings something unique to the table beyond their catastrophic power levels.
The true brilliance of Tensura’s handling of the Primordials is showing how beings of nearly unlimited power find purpose and direction in a world that no longer needs to fear them quite as much as it once did.
📌 Primordial Demon Power FAQ
Can these demons actually die, or are they just too stubborn?
Technically, yes, they can die—but good luck with that. Primordial Demons have regeneration abilities that make Wolverine look like he has a paper cut healing factor. Similar to True Dragons, they cannot permanently die even with the destruction of their heart core, though it does take time to recover. Those killed this way and who admit their defeat will become subordinate to those who killed them—which is exactly what happened when Guy defeated Rain and Misery.
What's the big deal about naming these demons?
Naming is basically like giving a demon a supernatural energy drink mixed with steroids. When someone with enough magical juice (like Rimuru) names a Primordial, it establishes a connection that lets the demon draw on additional power and evolve beyond their natural limits. It’s why Diablo, Testarossa, Carrera, and Ultima suddenly became even more terrifying after Rimuru named them. Naming a Primordial is risky business unless the namer is as powerful as a true demon lord or has a surplus of souls to convert into magical energy.
Could Diablo eventually overthrow Guy Crimson as the strongest Primordial?
If anyone’s going to do it, it’s our favorite demonic simp. Diablo’s growth rate under Rimuru has been absolutely ridiculous, and his potential seems limitless. That said, Guy Crimson has had literal millennia to develop his powers and holds advantages that would be hard to overcome. According to Misery, Testarossa and Diablo form a “troublesome duo,” suggesting that together they might approach Guy’s level, but individually they still have a ways to go.
Are all Primordials female except Diablo?
Not exactly. Guy Crimson appears to be gender-fluid, as he casually told Leon he was fine with being female instead of male. The other five Primordials (Testarossa, Misery, Carrera, Ultima, and Rain) all present as female. Diablo is the only Primordial who consistently identifies as male. That said, as ancient spiritual beings, concepts like gender are probably more fluid for Primordials than for humans.
How do these demons compare to Rimuru now?
Our favorite slime has basically broken the power scaling chart. By the latest light novel developments, Rimuru has surpassed all Primordials including Guy Crimson. His evolution into a True Dragon with multiple Ultimate Skills puts him in a completely different weight class. Early in the series, Guy Crimson could have squashed Rimuru like, well, a slime—but now Rimuru’s the one who could do the squashing. Talk about character development!
